Privacy policy

This explains what Temper collects when you visit usetemper.ai or ask for early access, why we hold it, who else touches it, and how to get it back or deleted. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Effective 17 August 2026 · Last updated 17 August 2026

The short version

  • We set no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no cross-site tracking on this site.
  • The only personal information we ask for is what you type into the early access form, plus anything you put in an email to us.
  • We use it to reply to you and to work out whether Temper is a fit. We do not sell it, and we do not run marketing sequences off it.
  • Ask us at [email protected] and we will send you a copy of what we hold or delete it.

Summary only. The sections below are the policy.

Who this policy applies to

Temper is a product for staged, health-gated firmware deployment to robot fleets. It is pre-launch. There is no application to sign into yet, so there are no user accounts, and we do not receive telemetry, logs or fleet data from anybody.

That means this policy currently covers two groups of people:

  • Visitors to usetemper.ai. Anyone who loads a page on this site.
  • People who contact us. Anyone who submits the early access form or emails us directly.

When there is a product to log into, this policy will be rewritten to cover customer accounts and any fleet data we process on a customer's behalf, before that processing starts. See changes to this policy.

What we collect

What you give us

The early access form asks for your name, work email, company, what you are deploying, and roughly how many units you have in the field. There is an optional free text box for how you ship updates today. The form also sends a hidden source field recording which page you submitted from, and a hidden anti-spam field that should always be empty.

Whatever you write in the free text box is up to you, so please leave out anything confidential or anything about your customers. If you email us instead, we hold the email and whatever is in it.

What is collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard web server logs when a page is requested: IP address, user agent, the URL requested, a timestamp and the referring page. We use these for delivery, diagnostics and abuse prevention. We do not combine them with form submissions to build a profile of you.

We do not collect precise location, we do not buy or enrich data about you from third parties, and we do not run any script on this site that watches what you do on the page.

Why we use it

  • To reply to you. Every early access request is read by a founder and answered directly.
  • To work out fit. Domain and fleet size tell us whether Temper is useful to you yet, and we will say so plainly if it is not.
  • To follow up about early access. Occasional, personal and related to the conversation you started. There is no newsletter and no automated sequence. Tell us to stop and we stop.
  • To keep the site running and secure. Server logs, diagnostics and blocking abuse.
  • To meet legal obligations where they apply to us.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, our legal bases are legitimate interests (responding to a business enquiry you initiated, and keeping the site secure), consent where you have given it, and legal obligation where one applies. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time under your rights and choices.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics package, no advertising pixel, no session replay and no cross-site tracking. Nothing is written to your browser's local or session storage.

The site makes exactly two requests to anyone other than our host: it loads a font stylesheet from Google Fonts, and it posts your form submission to our form processor when you submit it. Both are described in who else sees it. Because we do not track you across sites, there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off, but we would honour one if it applied.

Who else sees it

Temper is a very small company, so the list of people and services that touch your information is short and complete:

VercelHosting Serves this site and holds the server logs described above.
BasinForm processing Receives and stores early access submissions, then forwards them to us by email.
Google FontsWeb fonts Your browser requests the site's fonts from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address and user agent as part of that request. We send Google nothing else, and no form data ever reaches it.
Email providerCorrespondence Our mail provider carries and stores our correspondence with you, as any mail provider does.

Beyond that, we may disclose personal information to professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants where they need it, to a regulator or law enforcement where we are legally required to, and to an acquirer if the business is ever sold or merged, in which case this policy travels with the data until the acquirer publishes its own.

Where it is processed

Temper is based in Sydney, Australia. The providers listed above are based in the United States and operate globally, so your information may be stored or processed outside Australia, including in the United States.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to a transfer, we rely on the appropriate safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses in their data processing terms.

How long we keep it

  • Early access enquiries. Kept while the conversation is live, and for up to 24 months after we last hear from you, so we can pick the thread back up when the product is ready. Then deleted. Ask sooner and we delete sooner.
  • Email correspondence. Kept for as long as it is useful for the relationship, and deleted on request unless we need it for a legal reason.
  • Server logs. Retained briefly by our hosting provider under its own retention schedule, for diagnostics and abuse prevention.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and form submissions are encrypted in transit. Access to enquiries is limited to the founder, on accounts protected by strong authentication. Our providers encrypt data at rest.

No system can be guaranteed to be fully secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will tell you and the relevant regulator where the law requires it.

Your rights and choices

Wherever you are, you can email [email protected] and ask us to send you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. We aim to respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking, and there is no charge.

Australia

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information or your request, write to us first and we will try to sort it out. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

EEA and the UK

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing rests on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what was done beforehand. You can also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, or with the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.

California

You have the right to know what we collect and why, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right to know and the right to delete still apply and we will honour them.

Children

This site is aimed at people who run robot fleets at work. It is not directed at anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us their details, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when what we do changes, and the effective date at the top will change with it. If a change materially affects how we handle information we already hold, we will say so on this page and, where we have your email and it matters to you, tell you directly. We will not apply a new use retroactively to data we collected under this version without asking you.
